Giulio Sabbatini was born in Jesi in the province of Ancona, on the Adriatic coast, in the region of Marche, central Italy in the summer of 1945. After technical school he completed a 3-year apprenticeship as a panelbeater. His hometown was famous in Italy for its panelbeaters and with a population of only 50 000 boasted 30 panelshops.
Later Giulio moved to Switzerland where he worked for 3 years at a well-known Porsche/VW/Chrysler dealership before being employed by Poll Dell'Anna. This master coachbuilder who was trained by the legendary Bertone and Pinin Farina taught Giulio valuable skills. After 14 months in the Italian Air Force he emigrated to South Africa in 1974.
Here Giulio joined Perfection Panelbeaters where he worked his way up and eventually became a director. The business expanded and was later awarded an Alfa Romeo and Fiat dealership. In 1989 Giulio left to start his own business and traded very successfully as Sabbatini Automobile Stylists for about 14 years before he relocated to Italy. As an acknowledged master craftsman, he built up an enviable reputation for quality, reliability and honesty.
